CaribouGames LLC ("we", "us", "our") operates RacketBuddies (the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our Service.

Information We Collect

Account Information: When you register, we collect your name, email address, and optionally your phone number, home address, and profile photo.

Google Account Data: If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email, and profile picture from Google. If you use the Google Contacts import feature, we temporarily access your contacts (names, emails, phone numbers) to help you invite friends to games. We only store contact information for people you choose to invite.

Game Data: We collect information about games you create, join, or are invited to, including game details, messages, and participation history.

Device Information: We may collect device type, browser, and IP address for security and analytics purposes.

How We Use Your Information

To provide and maintain the Service
To send game invitations, reminders, and notifications (email, SMS, push)
To enable you to invite friends using your Google Contacts
To improve the Service and user experience
To comply with legal obligations

Google Contacts Data

When you use the "Import from Google Contacts" feature, we request read-only access to your Google Contacts. We do NOT:

Store your full contact list
Access contacts in the background
Share contact data with third parties
Use contact data for advertising

We only store the name, email, and phone number of contacts you explicitly select to invite to a game.

Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We may share data with:

Service providers: AWS (hosting), Twilio (SMS), SendGrid (email), Google (authentication), Firebase (push notifications)
Other users: Your name, profile photo, and player level are visible to other players in games and groups you join
Legal requirements: If required by law or to protect our rights

Data Security

We use industry-standard security measures including encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS), secure password hashing, and access controls. However, no method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure.

Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. You can request deletion of your account and associated data by contacting us.

Your Rights

You may:

Access, update, or delete your account information through your profile settings
Opt out of email and SMS notifications in your notification preferences
Revoke Google Contacts access through your Google Account settings
Request a copy of your data or account deletion by emailing us

Children's Privacy

RacketBuddies is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date.
